EFL Internship

Interns are an important part of giving the MeySen children more exposure to the English language.  The role of the intern can be anywhere from playing and speaking with the children to working with kids in small groups to work on their phonics skills.  The interns work in both the Immersion Program as well as the Friends Club Program.

Available Internships

First Trimester--May to July
Second Trimester--October to December
Third Trimester--January
※ Third trimester is only open to college students who have a required month of internship experience.

Terms and Qualifications

・Native English speaker
・Between16 and pre college graduate
・Student is responsible for round trip airfare, travel insurance and spending money
・Furnished housing and food will be provided by the school
・Length of Internship 60 - 90 days

General Duties

・Be involved in the classroom by speaking English to the children.
・Assist the classroom teachers in class preparations, playtime, programs, etc.
・Assist and participate in activities to improve the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of children
・Prepare indoor and outdoor areas for learning or recreational activities
・Assist in supporting children with intellectual, physical and behavioral difficulties with their academic studies
・Assist children individually to learn social skills
・Assist with the preparation of teaching aids, copying and collating written or printed material

Typical Weekly Schedule

・Monday ～ Friday
　　8:15 － 2:15 Immersion Program
　Break　
　　3:45 － 6:30 Friends Club
・Saturdays
　　9:00 － 6:00 Friends Club
・Sundays
　　Day off (Unless there is a special program)
