Immersion Friends Club EFL Teacher

Immersion Friends Club is an after school English program for elementary school students who are graduates of the Immersion Kindergarten Program. The children attend classes four to six days a week in order to continue their English education. At Immersion Friends Club, the children study in an all English environment not only in the classroom but also during play time, pony riding, Bible stories, parties, field trips, camps, and many other activities.

Qualifications

・Native English speaker
・Minimum of a four year degree in Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education (ECE) certification.
・Honest, hard working, flexible and dedicated individual who has a warm and energetic personality.

Daily Job Description

・Teach one grade (Between 1st and 6th) of a maximum of 16 students
・Prepare teaching materials and lesson plans
・Teaching time is approximately 3 hours , Monday through Saturday
・Prepare and clean up for special events and activities
・Monday through Friday from 1:00 to 7:00PM
・Saturdays from 8:00AM to 6PM
・Sunday is a day off with the exception of 8-10 Sundays during the year. These days are considered
  holiday work and compensated with a day off or extra pay.
・During Christmas parties and summer camps the schedule is changed to accommodate all the events.
  During these times, a work and staffing schedule will be given to you ahead of time so you can plan accordingly.   These types of activities also require extra meetings and preparation.

Annual Salary

Monthly Break-down:
180,000 yen + 50,000 yen (housing subsidy) = 230,000 yen per mounth.
Amount will be determined after consideration of applicant’s qualifications and experience. A bonus, based on job performance, will be given at the end of the contracted year. This salary includes a 50,000 yen housing subsidy. Health insurance with 70% coverage is optional, and MeySen will pay half of the salary based premiums.

　a typical vacation scenario:
　　　Summer:       Usually around 12 days in mid August
　　　Winter:           Usually around 12 days over New Years beginning after Christmas
　　　Spring:           Usually around 7 days in the end of March
・Training is provided from mid-February to April 1st
・Paid Time Off (PTO)

Year Two 　　6 days
Year Three 　7 days
Year Four 　　8 days
Year Five ~ 　10 days

Note: Depending on availability, the Immersion Friends Club teacher may also work with the junior and senior high school ESL program.
